Do the fairies of Nutfolk Wood exist? When Willa moves to a new house, she starts spending time with her elderly neighbor Hazel. Hazel tells her stories about a world of tiny fairies living in the woods behind her house. Over the course of the summer, Willa and Hazel try to figure out whether the fairies are real or something Hazel imagined when she was a child. Several times, Willa thinks she sees a fairy but they always disappear before she's sure. But even without proof, Willa wants to believe in a magical world that's right outside her door.
