The book is harder for younger kids. the book is fun and it has a lot of things a kid can relate to. There are some differcult words so you might need someone to help you read it. It is a very good book otherwise.

39 Apartments of Ludwig Van Beethoven

Jonah Winter (2006), 40 pages
Illustrated by Barry Blitt
Audience: 1st Grade - 5th Grade
This quirky look at Beethoven's frequent moves from apartment to apartment emphasizes the humorous side of the composer's chaotic life. No concrete historical evidence explains how Beethoven's heavy, legless pianos were moved, so the author creates some fantastical yet sometimes believable methods. Young readers will enjoy the logistical fun, and, at the same time, they will be introduced to the tumultuous elements of this composer's stressful life. The pen and ink drawings depict the composer with wild, frazzled hair and a scowling mouth. The author's note at the end attempts to clarify which elements in the story are true and which are fictional, but some readers may still be left confused.

A River of Words:  The Story of William Carlos Williams

Jennifer Bryant (2008), 32 pages
Illustrated by Melissa Sweet
Audience: 2nd Grade - 5th Grade
For William Carlos Williams, words and poems were everywhere in his world: in the sound of a river, in the fruit bowl, in a wheelbarrow, or next to some sparrows on the sidewalk. While watching nature and observing ordinary life, Williams began his path towards a new, freer form of poetry. This beautiful book, filled with collages, shows that poetry presents itself in every tiny nook and crevice of life. While Williams was busy as a doctor, he took moments to write poems on a prescription pad, or he stayed up late to write about the plums in the refrigerator. This book will inspire you to see beauty and meaning all around you. Soon you'll be jotting down your poems in short moments that will then last forever.

Boy Who Drew Birds:  A Story of John James Audubon

Jacqueline Davies (2004), 32 pages
Illustrated by Melissa Sweet
Audience: 2nd Grade - 4th Grade
John James Audubon was good at just about everything he tried, from hunting to dancing. But his favorite activity was spending time outside looking at nature, especially birds. As a young man, Audubon came to America from France. While watching birds he became interested in migration. In order to test his ideas, Audubon put strings on the birds' legs, the first instance of banding birds! This read-aloud book offers beautiful drawings and collages, including reproductions of some of Audubon's own journals and notes.
